Ohakune Mountain Mardi Gras, 27th June 2009
Tonight is the biggest party night of the year for Ohakune. As I sit in the upstairs lounge at the Turoa Ski Lodge writing this post, teams of people are busy rigging up the main stage, the sound the lighting, the fairground attractions and all of the food and beverage buildings for tonight’s festivities.
I’m happy to watch, as I’m still jaded from last night’s epic party night in the Turoa Ski Lodge bar. We were at capacity crowd from early in the night and the mood amongst party-goers was fantastic. Considerable alcohol was consumed, yet everyone was happy and having a blast.
I’ll be ready to kick it all off again tonight after the All Blacks vs Italy rugby match plays on the big screen. In the meantime, here are some of the party pictures from last night. If you scroll down, there’s some video footage from the night too.

I’ve just added a few more and will upload pics as they arrive. I was too busy being DJ to take too many pictures this year, but my co-DJ, Tony, got some on his camera also. Watch this space!
